Faber is the only vertically integrated group of companies in Germany that combines project development, infrastructure construction, battery storage construction and energy trading under one roof. Instead of dealing with several subcontractors, you have a single point of contact – from securing land to marketing electricity. This reduces the number of interfaces, shortens project durations by 50–75 % compared with the market average and minimises liability risks.
Faber E-Tec manufactures over 300 transformer substations annually and constructs substations up to 110 kV. Whether it is an individual substation for a commercial site or a turnkey grid connection for a multi-megawatt solar park, capacities scale to suit your project. The process is divided into four phases: 1. Analysis – grid inspection, TAB (technical connection conditions) requirements, approval framework. 2. Planning – design of the transformer or substation, documentation. 3. Manufacturing – production in our own workshop, no supply bottlenecks. 4. Commissioning – installation, switching authorisation, handover. Thanks to in-house production, typical waiting times for external suppliers are eliminated.
Yes, Faber implements both co-location storage (green electricity storage, connected directly to an RES plant, eligible for EEG funding) and stand-alone systems (grey electricity storage, grid connection possible). Retrofitting existing solar farms is possible provided that the grid connection has the necessary capacity – our engineers examine this as part of a free preliminary analysis.
F-TRADE undertakes direct marketing under the EEG, structures power purchase agreements (PPAs) and markets storage capacities on the balancing services and intraday markets (arbitrage). As an intra-group service provider, F-TRADE has every interest in the optimal performance of your plant – there is no conflict of interest with an external marketer.
All transformer substations and LV switchboards are manufactured and documented in compliance with technical connection conditions (TAB). Faber works regularly with regional grid operators such as Westnetz and is familiar with their specific requirements. Upon request, we can take over the complete communication with the grid operator.
Green electricity storage systems in co-location with renewable energy installations are eligible for EEG funding under certain conditions. In addition, there are KfW programmes and federal state grants for commercial storage solutions. Faber advises you on selecting the appropriate funding structure – please contact us before the planning phase begins, as funding conditions influence system design.
Through in-house manufacturing and held material stocks (copper, steel, concrete), standard transformer substations can be procured significantly faster than through the market. Exact delivery times depend on configuration and capacity utilisation. For time-critical projects, we recommend early capacity reservation – contact us directly for a binding statement.
