Commercial photovoltaic systems

Sustainable energy solutions for large commercial and industrial rooftops.

A solar park station is a specialised facility used for the integration and management of solar energy within a solar park. Its function consists of converting the direct current (DC) energy generated by the photovoltaic modules into alternating current (AC) and feeding it into the public power grid. Furthermore, it provides protection and monitoring functions for the safe operation of the solar park.

Our Solar park station features a wide range of functions, including the conversion of direct current to alternating current, protection and monitoring equipment, insulation monitoring, and efficient low-voltage distribution. It is specially designed for use in IT systems and meets the highest efficiency and safety requirements.

Our solar farm substation is convincing due to a number of advantages. These include higher efficiency through the omission of NH fuses, a longer service life and less maintenance effort due to lower heat generation and advanced switching technology. In addition, the integrated insulation monitoring ensures additional safety and reliability in the IT system.

Ground-mounted solar systems and solar parks

From site assessment to the turnkey realisation of high-performance solar farms.

Whether a site is suitable does not depend solely on its size. Town and country planning law, grid connection, land use, soil composition, nature conservation and commercial viability are also relevant. We always evaluate open-space projects on an individual basis.

Examples include conversion sites, areas along certain transport routes, disadvantaged agricultural areas or plots otherwise suitable under planning law. The actual suitability must be examined separately for each location.

Yes. Owners of suitable land can send us the main property details. These include in particular the location, size of the area, current use and parcel information. We will then check the general suitability.
Solar parks typically require a planning law procedure as well as various technical and nature conservation assessments. Which specific approvals are needed depends on the location and the respective project.
The project duration depends heavily on site suitability, the authorisation procedures, the grid connection and delivery times. Larger ground-mounted projects often take several months to several years from the initial review to commissioning.

Planning and project workflow

This is how we accompany your photovoltaic project from the initial enquiry to commissioning.

In the first step, you send us the most important project data. This includes, for example, the location, available space, energy consumption, existing documentation and the desired timeframe. We will then review your enquiry and discuss the next steps with you.

The following are particularly helpful:

  • Address and location of the planned facility
  • Type and size of the available roof or open space
  • Current electricity consumption and load profile data
  • Photographs, site plans or roof plans
  • Information on the existing mains connection
  • Desired project duration
  • Information on planned expansions, storage facilities or charging infrastructure
Yes. We design the photovoltaic system to match the location, energy demand and technical requirements. Depending on the order, this includes system layout, component planning, cable routes and the coordination of the electrical infrastructure.
Yes. The grid connection is a central component of larger photovoltaic projects. We assist with the technical design and coordinate the necessary steps on a project-specific basis with the partners and grid operators involved.
Required compact, transfer and transformer substations can be planned and implemented within the Faber Energy Group together with Faber E-Tec. As a result, the photovoltaic system and electrical infrastructure can be closely coordinated with one another.
In principle, yes. Before an expansion, we examine, among other things, the existing plant technology, available space, grid connection capacity and economic viability. On this basis, we develop a suitable expansion concept.

Cost-effectiveness and operations

Answers on self-consumption, energy yield, battery storage and long-term system operation.

The economic viability depends, among other things, on investment costs, electricity consumption, self-consumption rate, electricity price, system size, financing and remuneration. An individual calculation shows which concept makes sense for the respective location.

Having your own photovoltaic system can reduce energy costs in the long term, decrease dependence on electricity price trends, and contribute to achieving corporate sustainability goals. In addition, unused roof space or open areas can be put to economic use.
Modern photovoltaic systems are designed for long-term operation. Their actual useful life depends on the quality of the components, proper installation, operating conditions and regular maintenance.
Regular checks help to identify technical faults, contamination or performance drops at an early stage. The type and scope of the maintenance depend on the size, design and use of the system.
Depending on the system design, solar power that is not consumed directly can be fed into the public grid, stored in a battery storage system or marketed in other ways.

Transformer substations and transfer stations

Frequently asked questions about compact substations, transfer substations and transformer stations
A compact substructure is a prefabricated electrical substation in which a transformer, medium-voltage switchgear and low-voltage distribution system are combined in a space-saving manner. It converts medium voltage into the required low voltage and is suitable for industry, commerce, solar parks, battery energy storage systems and charging infrastructure, among other applications.
Compact substations require less footprint and, thanks to their high degree of prefabrication, can be quickly erected and commissioned. The compact design reduces the planning and installation effort on site. Walk-in transformer substations, on the other hand, offer more space for extensive switchgear, additional components, and individual expansions. Which design is more suitable depends on the power output, the grid connection, and the project requirements.
Our compact substations are available with transformers up to a rating of 3,150 kVA. Depending on the project, versions for 400 or 800 volt low voltage as well as medium voltage networks with 10, 20 or 24 kV are possible. The technical equipment is planned to suit the specifications of the grid operator and the requirements of the site.
Our transformer stations are designed for long-term outdoor use. The robust precast concrete housing protects the electrical components from the elements and mechanical stress. High-quality components, professional installation and regular maintenance ensure safe and long-term operation.
Yes. We tailor the compact substation to the technical requirements of each individual project. Depending on the application, components such as the transformer, medium-voltage switchgear, low-voltage distribution, metering, protection systems, communications and UPS can be customised. The specifications of the relevant network operator are also taken into account during the planning stage.
